About Twin Teaks

Twin Teaks is run by Muharrem Yıldırım, a maker and carpenter building custom furniture, restorations, and one-of-a-kind pieces since 2020. Every project starts with a conversation about the space it's for, and ends with something built to last for decades, not seasons.

Muharrem trained formally in carpentry and woodworking through a full-time vocational program in Germany, including certified heavy machinery training. Alongside Twin Teaks projects, he's worked hands-on in Berlin workshops — including Raummodul and Wehner Tischlerei — reproducing and restoring church furniture, building solid-wood kitchens, and producing door and window frames. He also spent time as the wood workshop lead at MotionLab.Berlin, training members on shop safety and machinery.

Before woodworking, he spent over a decade working across Berlin's tech and automotive industries — starting out as a multimedia artist and software engineer, building software and hardware prototypes for clients in automotive, home appliances, and beyond, before moving into directing engineering and product teams. That background still shows in how he works: methodical, hands-on, and not satisfied until the details are right.
